It’s rare that we’re still talking about a film that released in February of last year; it’s rarer still that it’s a serious Oscar-contender. But writer/director Jordan Peele’s Get Out is a rare film. If you still haven’t seen 2017’s most talked about movie, you’re about to run entirely out of excuses.
On Presidents’ Day, February 19, Peele and Universal Pictures will be giving out free tickets at 55 participating AMC theaters across the country. Each guest who requests a ticket the day of the screening will given FREE ADMISSION to the 7:00 PM showtime until capacity is reached!
I’m of the opinion that every movie is best seen in a theater, but seeing Get Out in a packed house last winter was especially optimal. The film is a pitch-perfect blend of comedy and horror and the audience reacted all along that range of emotions. If you still need to see Get Out, this is definitely the way to do it. You can find the participating theater nearest you here. Alternatively, if you don’t plan on leaving the house that day, you can buy the film on FandangoNOW.
“When Jordan approached us about a way to thank fans one year after the release of Get Out, we thought a Presidents’ Day screening during Black History Month would be a wonderful way to commemorate the film’s impact,” said Jim Orr, President, Distribution, Universal Pictures. “The success of his stunning vision would not have been possible without the audience’s passion for both Get Out’s groundbreaking storytelling and its deft use of art as society’s mirror.”
A solid indicator of a film’s lasting impact is its fan base, andGet Outgains attractors each day. Many of its admirers have showcased their feelings through fan art and Jordan Peel took notice.
